{"id":466,"date":"2012-10-26T09:00:46","date_gmt":"2012-10-25T22:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bellabuy.com.au\/blog\/?p=390"},"modified":"2012-10-26T09:00:46","modified_gmt":"2012-10-25T22:00:46","slug":"how-to-create-a-shabby-chic-piece-of-furniture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bellabuy.com.au\/blog\/home\/how-to-create-a-shabby-chic-piece-of-furniture\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Create a Shabby Chic Piece of Furniture\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With a new baby on the way and a house that has absolutely no storage space\u2026 I have had to be a little creative with what little space we have and move a few things around!<\/p>\n<p>After a few weeks of searching for a second hand wardrobe, I found just the thing on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gumtree.com.au\" target=\"_blank\">gumtree.com.au<\/a> for $100.<\/p>\n<p>Now was the task to change it from an ordinary timber wardrobe into something a little more luxe\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>Here is what you need :-<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Sandpaper (medium thickness) &amp; a block (or if you have one a handheld electric sander is also great and makes the job quicker)<\/li>\n<li>Masking Tape<\/li>\n<li>Paint Brush (Small &amp; Large)<\/li>\n<li>Dulux Prep &amp; Primer<\/li>\n<li>Dulux Wash &amp; Wear Paint<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Steps<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Give the outside surface a light sanding<\/li>\n<li>Use a clean, dry paintbrush to dust off excess dust from sanding\u2026 this is a great job to involve little helpers who are extremely eager and enthusiastic to join in\u2026<\/li>\n<li>Tape up around the edges to ensure no spills into the unpainted areas and a neater end result. Then you are ready to paint your first undercoat ~ allow to dry.
