DIY T-Shirt Scarf

If you google “re-cycle an old t-shirt” you’ll find a million different ways to turn an old t-shirt into something useful. I did exactly that and found this little gem and decided to give it a go. It’s so easy, doesn’t require any sewing and takes around 15 minutes! So grab yourself an old t-shirt and turn it in to a gorgeous looking scarf in a flash.

What you need

  • Old t-shirt
  • Scissors
  • That’s it, seriously.

Steps

  1. Cut the bottom hem off the shirt
  2. Cut horizontal strips around 1-2cm in width – continue until you reach under the armpits
  3. Stretch out the strips so that the edges curl around themselves
  4. Twist and double over the strips so that the seams meet up and 2 circles are formed
  5. Save one strip and cut the seam so you have one long piece
  6. Put all the twisted pieces together, seams at the top
  7. Wrap your long piece around the top section where the seams are, and tie to finish off

Do you have any great re-cycling projects you’d like to share?
