DIY Salon Blow Dry like a Pro

If I won tattslotto one of my secret fantasy’s would be to get my hair washed and blow dried at least once a week… but since that’s not a reality here are some hot tips on how to get that salon look and keep it perfect all day!

  1. Always start with wet hair. Have a water spritzer handy for days when you don’t want to re-wash you hair!
  2. Gently towel dry but avoid ‘rough drying’ – fluffing your hair with your hands while drying as this creates frizzy hair and fly-aways.
  3. Avoid using too much product… and ensure it suits your hair type eg: for oily or fine hair, just use a little on the ends if required, not on the roots or they will become limp.
  4. Divide your hair into sections, and start at the front where it tends to dry the quickest.
  5. Hold the first section using a round brush and plenty of tension, aim the blow-dryer at the roots and move it along the length of your hair to the ends. Not holding the hairdryer too close to the hair and heating it in the one direction of the cuticle helps keep it smooth and frizzfree.
  6. Continue with the rest of the sections
  7. For more height and volume, hold each section up and blow dry in the opposite direction from the way you want it to lie. For extra bounce, pin each section up after drying to let it cool. This helps set the curl to ensure your bounce lasts!
  8. Finally, spray your hair lightly with hairspray and voila!
  9. Avoid running your fingers through it or brushing it out if possible as this will break up the bounce and make it go limp.

So, what do you think?
